Cozy and Comfortable Guest Lodgings at Pecan Valley Inn

Whether you spend the day relaxing on the wraparound porch of the bed and breakfast, hiking and mountain biking on the ranch, horseback riding and exploring Chickasaw National Recreation Area, antique shopping at nearby Davis and Sulphur, touring the Arbuckle Mountains, or swimming at Turner Falls Park, your guestroom is your haven of peace and privacy. Plush robes, specialty soaps, deep soaking tubs, and Southern hospitality pamper you in the quiet of the rural Oklahoma countryside.

The Hunt Room and Victorian Garden Room Suite are located on the first floor and feature private access to the wraparound porch. On cold days, the flames of the fireplace in The Hunt Room (left) inspire relaxation in this comfortable room. Adorned with unusual rocks, fossils and quartz, the fireplace was updated in the 1950’s with the Youngblood’s new found “oil money”. An antique lawyer's bookcase holds a variety of books and a satellite television with a VCR will certainly add to your enjoyment. However, the the front porch seems to be the "drawing card" for most everyone. The Charalampous family, the innkeepers, proudly display hunting trophies on the hunter green walls. From the porch you might spot deer or wild turkey feeding in the pasture or squirrels and hummingbirds frolicking in the yard.

The Meinders Suite is named for the innkeeper’s parents, Hildred and Wesley Meinders, pioneer attorneys and ranchers. The large second floor suite features a queen bed facing the original oak and Italian tile fireplace. The flickering flames tantalize as you drift off to sleep. From the antique desk by the window you can overlook the second floor wraparound porch, the perfect spot for daydreaming or gazing out over the property. The adjoining sitting room has a comfortable divan and club chair for reading, napping, or watching satellite television which has a DVD/VCR. A CD player/clock radio is also available. The bathroom is relaxing with its antique claw foot tub with shower.

The Dr. Howell's - Miss Laura's Suite is named for Dr. Howell, an Indian Territory physician, and his daughter, Laura Howell Youngblood, who lived in the house all of her 98 years. The suite is located on the second floor at the top of the curving “bridal” staircase where all of the doctor’s daughters descended to take their wedding vows. This suite has connecting bedrooms and is perfect for a couple with an adult child, two singles, or two couples willing to share a bathroom. The bathroom is accessible from the hallway rather than the adjoining bedroom if so desired.
